With ongoing construction
of the new town, the livable Zhujiajiao with traditional Chinese
charm has taken shape and successively won the Gold Medal of the
"Top 50 Places Abroad to visit for the Chinese" and other honorable
titles, such as the "National Environmental Elegant Town", the
"National Healthy Town", the "China Living Environment Example
Prize" and the "Chinese Famous Historical and Cultural Town".
Zhujiajiao is becoming more and more beautiful.
In recent years, in line with the landscape ecology, Zhujiaojiao
has turned itself into a historical and cultural town with functions
of relaxation, recreation, living and travel and the style of the
water town in the South of the Yangtze River, Zhujiajiao, making
full use of the natural water environment and profound culture.
Zhujiajiao lays equal emphasis on the reconstruction of the old and
new town from two aspects of the town's ecological green land and
central town green land, according to the overall development
strategy and space layout.
Constructed in 2003, Zhuxi Road leading to National Highway 318,
the first garden road in Shanghai, presents the unique charm and
elegant scenery of "New Water Town in the South of the Yangtze
River". Zhuxi Road Green Land was awarded the "Shanghai Construction
Project White Yulan High Quality Project" in 2004. The two large
green lands of Dianshan Lake Road and Dadian Road were successively
constructed in 2005. Thus, at the northern end of Dianshan Lake
Avenue in Xinshi Town, the most beautiful arcs in the Zhujiajiao New
Town Layout with the stretching landscape attract countless
passersby here. Thanks to the long bank leaning on green wave and
fragrant grass, the town is nicknamed by the locals as the "Little
West Lake" of Zhujiajiao.
Tai'an 1st Phase Greening, started in 2006, is a new attempt of
Zhujiaojiao Residential Zone greening in line with the landscape
ecology. The community scenery fully presents the prolonging of
freshwaters' natural ecology and eco-friendly livable style. The
green scenery in the Citizen Center, adopting the ground design of
open and people-first government makes use of the citizens'
favorable trees to beautify the Citizen Square, which satisfies the
demands of small party and relaxation.
At present, Zhujiaojiao has constructed 3 large green lands with
the total area of more than 800,000 square meters, 9 green roads
with 330,000 square meters, the Residential Zone and the Citizen
Center with the greening areas of 140,000 meters and the greening
area per capita of 40 square meters. By 2020, the greening area per
capita of Zhujiajiao natives is expected to reach 47.34 square
meters, with the greening coverage of 40% to 50%.
