| The recent official launch
of eutrophication control and ecological restoration test project of
Dianshan Lake, namely the comprehensive water environment treatment
project of the Taihu Lake Basin in Shanghai, kicked off the water
environment treatment project of the Taihu Lake Basin.
It is learned that, the project falls into four categories and
seven single items, with an engineering cost of RMB15 million. The
project, with its focus on the research of eutrophication status and
formation mechanism, will explore the control measures of
cyanobacteria bloom and take a lake ecological restoration test. To
guarantee the quality of the project, a 9-member expert group from
the departments, including the S & T Commission of Water
Resources Bureau, the East China Normal University, the Shanghai
Environmental Protection Bureau and the Shanghai Water Resource
Bureau, will, upon the invitation of the Water Resources Bureau of
Qingpu District under the supervision of the Shanghai Water
Resources Bureau, appraise the implementing scheme compiled by each
appointed unit. Seven mid-term test units were finally chosen,
including Fudan University and Shanghai Ocean University. At
present, each unit, busy with initial preparation, will take a
mid-term test in due time.
