Under the guidance of the
policy of "mainly protection, salvage first, reasonable use,
heritage development", Qingpu has made headways in recent years in
the protection and exploration of intangible cultural heritage, with
the breakthrough point of the Qingpu Tian Folk Songs. At present, 4
projects of Qingpu District have been chosen on the list of the 1st
batch of Shanghai Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Since 2004, according to the principle of "government leadership,
public participation, overall planning, separated implementation",
Qingpu's culture department has strengthened the protection,
management and reasonable use of intangible cultural heritage in
Qingpu. By the beginning of 2007, Qingpu had sifted through 28
applications of intangible cultural heritage projects from towns and
communities, and finally chosen 11 projects for the evaluation of
district intangible cultural heritage projects. Qingpu's 4 projects
survived the strict appraisal of the Shanghai Intangible Cultural
Heritage Protection Center before being chosen on the list of the
1st batch of Shanghai intangible cultural heritage.
According to Vice Director Li Weihong of Qingpu's Culture Center,
out of 28 projects of Qingpu, 4 projects have been chosen on the
list of the 1st batch of Shanghai intangible cultural heritage in
2007, including Tian Folk Song of Qingpu, Fast Boat Rowing, A'Po Tea
and Shangta Buddhist Scripture Chanting. Moreover, Qingpu Tian Folk
Song has been chosen as National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
It is learned that Qingpu's culture department is now organizing
professionals to carry out systematic listing and exploration of
Qingpu's intangible cultural heritage for better promotion of the
heritage.
