| Recently, the Qingpu
District People's Government has released the "Notice of Launching
Qingpu's 2nd Economic Census" (the Notice) and founded a special
work team led by Zhang Wangyao, District Vice-governor and Standing
Member of the Qingpu District Party Committee. Moreover, the special
work team's office, headquartered in the Qingpu District Statistics
Bureau, takes charge of the census work ranging from organization to
implementation. According to the Notice, all departments at both
district and town (community) levels are set to resolve 4 problems
of agencies, personnel, outlay and venues, thus ensuring an orderly
economic census. Besides, the release of the Notice has kicked off
the 2nd Economic Census in the District.
The economic census, covering all the District's legal-person
entities, industrial-activity entities and self-employed individuals
engaging in secondary and tertiary industries, aims to investigate
the development scale and layout of the secondary and the tertiary
industries, grasp the status quo of industrial organizations,
structures and technologies as well as the composition of all
production factors, find out the energy consumption of all
enterprises and units, and soundly set up a basic business directory
and a basic information database covering all national economic
sectors. Undoubtedly, the economic census will contribute to the
decision-making of the Qingpu District Party Committee and the
Qingpu District Government in key tasks such as the energy saving,
the service industry's development, the District's revitalization by
science and education.
