On the morning of March 8, Qingpu District Experimental Middle School welcomed a group of special guests, as 22 teachers and students from German Oskar Kammer School would form the one-for-one pairs with the students of the middle school in studies and life during their 6-day studying visits and exchanges, so as to understand the cultural and educational ideas with Chinese characteristics and personally experience the Chinese customs and culture.
The welcome ceremony kicked off with the playing of the brass band of the experimental middle school, and the teachers and students from the two schools performed wonderful programs with local characteristics, bringing the excitement on the spot.
Then, the German students had a PE class with the students of the experimental middle school, participating in the table tennis, shuttlecock and other exercises. The German teachers sat in on the classroom teaching and compared notes with the Chinese teachers to learn about the Chinese educational and cultural concepts.
Lu Huan, director of the student development department of the experimental middle school, said, “We believe that it is more necessary for the students to demonstrate themselves on the international stage and have the international concept and awareness, and it is a good opportunity and stage for us to broaden our international horizon for the future.”
A student said, “We have been long looking forward to their visits with many preparations, and we want them to deepen their understanding of the Chinese culture.”
According to the sources, the experimental middle school and Oskar Kammer School signed the agreement on international sister schools in June 2015 as the two schools agreed to mutually send students and teachers for exchanges on a regular basis so as to carry out the course learning and experience activities.
