Recently, the technical personnel at Shanghai Agricultural Technology Center, the law and regulation enforcement corps at the district agriculture commission and Shanghai Agricultural Information Co., Ltd. tested and installed Shanghai's first all-in-one machine of supervision over agricultural inputs at the store of agricultural means of production at Baihe agricultural technology service station, providing the technical guidance. Baihe agricultural technology service station is so far the first demonstration site for electronic supervision over agricultural inputs in Shanghai.
Besides the hardware such as touch screen and scanning gun that are used in the supermarkets, the machine also boasts the function of ID card identification, thus realizing the purpose of “digital information, real-name purchase and sale, real-time supervision and network service” and providing the technical guarantee for the traceable management of agricultural means of production.
After trying out the machine, a salesperson at the service station said, “The machine frees me from the troubles of writing records and taking inventory regularly.” It was learnt that with the agricultural means of production in a wide variety, the service station deals with over 640 pesticides and more than 100 products of seeds and fertilizer, for which the recording work was time and energy-consuming with errors frequently occurring. The electronic sales record will not only reduce the workload at the stores, but also protect the farmers’ interests in consumption and provide data support for the relevant regulators.
In the future the pilot program will also be implemented at 5 stores of agricultural means of production in Qingpu and then be promoted in the whole district, so as to gear up for the implementation of the “Regulation on Pesticide Administration”.
