Walk into the forest and enjoy a relaxing time among luxuriant trees. The 2017 China Forest Tourism Festival opened in Shanghai on September 25, with the theme of “Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets - Walk into the forest and make city life more wonderful!”
Over thirty years, with the steady improvement of people’s livelihood and constantly strengthened protection and exploitation work on forests and other natural resources, Qingpu’s forest tourism started from scratch, developed gradually and maintained the sound momentum of rapid growth. The forests cover an area of 8324.9 hectares, with the coverage rate of 12.42%, fulfilling the target of 11.31% ahead of the end of 2015 specified in the “Shanghai Forests Protection and Utilization Planning (2010 to 2020)”. The ecological renovation project was implemented at the Dianshan Lake Wetland, then building the new landscape of Dalian Lake Wetland featuring forest ecology, wetland and natural lakes, covering a total area of 4.6 square meters. Qingpu was thus ahead of other districts of Shanghai.
During the China Forest Tourism Festival from September 25 to September 27, the eco-tour spot of the Oriental Land Tourism Festival charged only RMB40 for a ticket, which cost RMB100 before the discount.
