  • Qingpu Carries forward Chinese Traditional Culture in Lantern Festival Gala
  • Qingou produces cultural series for celebrating Lantern Festival with abundant in contents and various in forms, thus further creating joyful and auspicious atmosphere and enriching spiritual lives for the public. All this aims to offer an enjoyable festival for people.

    Themed with “new journey, new outlook and new span”, the Lantern Festival Gala was held by the District Administration of Culture, Radio and Film & TV. Compiled and directed by the working staff, 17 performances were staged in succession, such as Amazing Bureau for Culture and Radio, Manage Joyful Occasion, Beautiful Qingpu, Evening Bells Ringing at Nanping Hill and Salute to Revolution Spirit of Bureau for Culture and Radio.

    Joining hands with the Party Branch of Xulian Village and the Party Branch of the Town Culture and Sports Center, the Party Branch of the Party Construction Service Center of Liantang Town organized a gala entitled “Party Construction Combination for Harmony, Joys Together for Lantern Festival”, with such wonderful performances as Shanghai Opera, folk songs and interacted games.

    The New Social Stratum Association of Yingpu Sub-district organized staff from the District United Front Work Department to hold activities for the Lantern Festival, with joyful games like solving riddles on lanterns, paper cutting and topping-on; upon compiled and staged by themselves, wonderful and joyful performances brought brilliance to the audience, including the Shanghai-style song named Winds Wafting through Black Bamboo, guitar-pop Brightness, duet dance Meeting and electronic keyboard solo the Year of 1945.

    Themed with “tradition heritance, development promotion”, Jinze Town Oversea Chinese Affairs Association held the evening gala for the Lantern Festival. Upon a range of grouping and sticking, families of overseas Chinese made attractive lanterns by pieces of colorful paper. They took photos to share delight moments with foreign friends and relatives upon WeChat, thus sharing cultural atmosphere of Lantern Festival with them.

    At the fitness classroom named “Xiangxinli” of Zhaoxiang Town Party Construction Center, arrays of residents were attracted by innovative lanterns manufacturing. Upon interpretation, people gained knowledge about the long history of colorful lanterns and tried making lanterns themselves, thus carrying forward traditional culture of festival celebration.

    The House for Staff of Qingpu Industry Park held riddles guessing, attracting some youths on work. The riddles on lanterns were ordinary but interesting, including idioms, work puzzles, animals and plants as well as songs. In addition, youth volunteers also prepared hot and tasteful glutinous rice balls, thus warming other foreign workers like a unified family.

    The Branch of Qingpu Public Security Bureau held the annual sports meeting with 6 programs in group or individually. All the participants worked together, showing the cooperation and progressing spirits.

    In an old house of Shangta Old Street of Jinze Town, folk art enthusiasts grouped together to celebrate the Lantern Festival through recitation, dragon dances, Lian Xiang competition and Shanghai opera. Culture and art fans from the Shangta Community Committee form the Lianxiang Team for Elderly, Xuanjuan Team and Tiange Team. However, they don’t have a special room for culture and art. Bao Yiliang, a folk artist, initiatively decorated and offered a storefront house for free, and put up a plate carved with “Culture and Art Recreation Room for the Public”, so as to satisfy the enthusiasts locally, which becomes a much-told story here.

    Kids and parents from Zhaoxiang Kindergarten played games together for the Lantern Festival, reveling in joys brought by the Chinese traditional festival. The artist of sugar painting made lifelike toys according to kids’ requirements, producing an eyeful and mouthful for kids.
