Directed by Shanghai Tourism Bureau, co-sponsored by the Shanghai People’s Radio Station (SPRS for short), the People’s Government of Zhujiajiao Town and Bright Dairy Co., Ltd., and undertaken by the “Chatterbox” of SPRS, Shanghai Fuyuan Sports and Culture Communication Co., Ltd. and the Shanghai Leyi Public Sports Club, the appraisal activity of “seeking the most beautiful town” and the orienting competition of “delving into Zhujiajiao” were held in Zhujiajiao on September 16.
Xu Weiwan, Director of Shanghai Tourism Bureau, Wang Zhiping, Deputy Chief of the Party Committee of Radio and Television Station of Shanghai and Chief of the Party Committee of the East Radio Center, and Han Shunfang, Deputy Chief of the CPC District Committee, jointly announced to launch the event. Gu Jun, Deputy District Governor, and other officials attended the ceremony.
In his speech, Han Shunfang said that Qingpu is the source of Shanghai, and that the ancient culture and water culture are the clearest cultural identification code of the district. The CPC District Committee and the District Government attached great importance to cultural construction and formulated the Three-year Plan for Cultural Development in Qingpu District (2017-2019). At the 6th Plenary Session of the 5th CPC District Committee held recently, the district further established the goal to build the “Gate of Shanghai”. Actively relying on historical opportunities such as the China International Import Expo, promoting of the capacity and core competitiveness of Shanghai, and creating of the four major brands, the district will further open the two sectors of servicing the world and the Yangtze River Delta, and make every effort to highlight the cultural brand, fully displaying the new image of “Gate of Shanghai” and the new charms of Jiangnan culture.
At the launching ceremony, sports and culture performances were staged, including the boat boxing, folk songs in the fields and 36 Ancient Zithers and 36 Bridges. Hundreds of enthusiastic citizens and lovers of competition tourism from all parts of Shanghai participated in such activities as practically visiting Kezhi Garden and hiking North Street.
With the strong support of the Municipal Tourism Bureau and the SPRS, the activity of “delving into the most beautiful town” has been carried out for more than a year, which has already made a thorough visit to more than 20 small towns with various styles in all districts of Shanghai, vividly demonstrating Shanghai’s solid efforts of promoting rural revitalization and the fruitful results of establishing small featured towns.
Based on its own advantages, Zhujiajiao has made great achievements in the establishment of national 5A tourist attractions and the construction of featured towns in recent years. The district is looking forward to further digging into the tourist resources of ancient towns with the help of activities such as “delving into the most beautiful town”, so that Zhujiajiao will become a good place for the public to spend their joyful vacations. All this aims to access more citizens and tourists into the attractions of the ancient town.
