	By the end of 2003 the district has a registered population of 458,282 among which 230,718 are male and 227,564 are female. The registered population of Qingpu Town has reached 111,429 with an increase of 1.09 % over the last year. The newly born population of the district in the whole year is 2,441 with a birthrate of 5.32 ‰ and an increase of 0.25 milli-points over the last year.

　

>> Ecdogical Enviroment

	Situated in Changjiang River Delta, Qingpu District has a subtropical climate with maritime monsoons. Southeast wind is the prevailing wind of the year. The climate is mild with sufficient sunshine and enough rains and a clear division of four seasons.
